A Very Long Weekend Indeed....

Sorry!! I had a pretty busy weekend and then I had work and just wasn't on my game!!!

On Saturday, my friend and my sister and I went to a Wedding Expo. It was in a smaller town so it wasn't as busy as the ones in the city. There were lots of different ideas and helpful booths for the wedding thats for sure. There were tons of photographers and they were all showing such wonderful pictures. The main thing I wanted to talk to someone about was flowers!!!! The worst part was, the lady who had the flower booth couldn't make it because of the weather =( Thankfully she emailed me back and we have an appointment to meet in a couple weeks.

The other thing that I really loved, was a booth that did funny pictures. She would bring all of her props and camera and set up a little area to take silly pictures. I thought this was such a fabulous idea!!! Its different and much more affordable then a photo booth which is what I originally thought might be a good plan. Until I realized they cost anywhere from 1500 to 2000 dollars. I just couldn't imagine spending that much money on something, when I could spend it on something a little more important.

The other interesting thing I saw there was photographer who took "sexy" pictures of you, so you could put them in a album and give them to your husband on your wedding night. Although I think this is a wonderful idea, I just could never imagine myself doing it......EVER.  It definitely is a very sexy thing to do for your husband to be!! =)

Hmm... I am sooo thankful I have another year or so to get prepared. There is sooo much more to this then you ever really realize until you have to do it yourself! Thankfully I have my sister and my bridesmaids to help me out.

First Things First!

My name is Shelby. I am a indecisive 20 year old from Alberta! I was born and raised in Alberta, I am from a teeny tiny town that no one has ever heard of. So,  half the time I don't even tell people. It just creates a big mess of trying to explain where it is and the other person truly thinking that it is somewhere in Siberia.  I was born on January 25th , to two people who have been together for about 26 years now! Never married though, just engaged =) It is sooo confusing trying to explain to people my parents situation! We have 2 houses, because my Dad works in the city 6 days out of the week. Everyone just assumes my parents are divorced, seeing as how they don't get to live together and they have different last names! I would probably assume the same thing if someone told me that weird story haha! I have 1 sister that is my very best friend. She is 9 years older then me, is married with 2 kids and 1 more on the way!!! She has 2 little boys that are absolu...

Growing Up... Live and Learn.

Hey guys! Sorry it has been a little while. I just feel like I can't write without some sort of inspiration and today my inspiration isn't the happiest of memories but definitely one of my stepping stones to growing up. On Facebook there is a "On This Day" app and it basically shows you all of your statuses or pictures on that particular day in past years. Well today, June 2nd my Facebook status was about how excited I was to go wedding dress shopping 3 years ago and I sat there reading it and not being able to believe how much had changed within those 3 years. I know I always come back to being engaged and my ex a lot and now that isn't because I'm not over it but honestly, that was probably the biggest turning point in my life thus far. I see all of these statuses each day and they take me down memory lane, they mostly remind me how happy and in love I was, or how many amazing friends I had/have. I say had/have because I can't believe how many people hav...
